Lucy Kaplansky
FYI, all. I just saw Lucy Kaplansky in concert at a local venue here in Virginia just outside DC last weekend. She's still living in NY, married and has a 5-year old girl. She's put out maybe a half-dozen CDs or so, and recently collaborated with a bunch of other artists on a children's book / audio project of lullabies - you can check it all out on her website (just Google her name).

Several of us are almost Lucy groupies. Gwen Macsai, Andy Neal, Miguel DeLa Cerna, Hanna Goldschmidt, Judy Keane, Brenda Coffield, etc. all saw her last gig in Chicago and many of us are going again on May 10 at Schuba's, 7:30 pm. See the Schuba's website for tickets--if they are still available! She sells out quickly.
She may sell out quickly at the box office, but at least she didn't sell out her dreams. Go Lucy!
I have been lucky enough to see Lucy several times here on the West Coast. She is a great performer and her CD's are amazing. If you don't already have it, The Red Thread is a must have.
